Parents getting new floors in the house.....

Has been a pain in my side for the past two days. I don't know why they are getting them taken out while I am still here for the break they could have waited till I left for school. They are doing most of the work in the living room but the thing is that is where I sleep or where I used to sleep. Now i'm sleeping in the study on the floor with a sleeping bag. My back has not been a big fan of this change. Also I have been stuck in the study for the majority of the day because they are doing work outside of the study also. They come early in the morning around 8 so guess who hasn't been getting to sleep in these past couple of days. This has been one big SMH moment.

I'm sorry but ya'll feel for the hype.......

First off I want to say I am a Kanye West fan and I like most of the work he has put out in the past but with that said I have to address some of these fans of his that are going around calling his latest album a work of "art". That is far from the truth. I have listened to the album and I think its a 3 out of 5 at best. The beats are on point for most of the album but he really doesn't come correct with his lyrics as he did in his past albums. Jay-Z out shined him on every song they were on together. The only song that I listened to that was he did good with the lyrics was Dark fantasy and So Appalled (even though Jay-Z got him on that song). I think people getting this album confused with real art is due to the lack of substance in most of the hip hop scene. People hear something that has a little substance and they automactically say its great but in reality its just decent. To be honest this is fourth best CD and is only above 808's and heartbreaks......I'm sorry but most of yall feel for the hype of this album being great but it is average at best and that is because of the beats.

So I might have Native American in me??

So this Thanksgiving I was at my grandma's house in Marshall, Texas and while at the table with my cousins, aunt and grandma and we were talking about something and it lead to us talking about our family and apparently my great great great great great great grandma was full blooded Native American. Sooo I guess that means that I have some in me?? If so that's whats up. My cousin started to work on a family tree so I might find out more later. I think the Native Americans my family came from is from Oklahoma. I wonder if I have enough Native American in me to get some money for school?? If so that would be ballin.

My "WTF" Saturday

This past saturday was crazy. It's a long story so let me get started. It started on friday night when I had pulled into the parking garge (Mattew Street) from getting my haircut at around 9:30. I parked my car, turned it off like I always do and nothing was wrong. I then came back 45 minutes later to my car to go to Tower to meet up with Matt and Stanley. When I got into the car and turned the key nothing came on.....not a thing....it was completely dead....not like car battery dead dead but a complete lock down dead. I couldn't even get my key out. So I call Matt and Stanley  and my co-worker Tiffany to see if they could help and when they got there we messed with it to see if we could get it to work but nothing happened. So I call UPD and they send one of the parking services guys out to my car to see if I need a jump. When he gets there he hooks up my car to his and jumps it and it comes on but when he took the plug off and I turned the car off and tried to turn it back on it went dead again. The parking service guy didn't know what was wrong so he jumped me again and I just got my car key out and locked the doors myself and just said I would wait till the next day (Saturday) to mess with it. Saturday comes and I go to eat with Tiffany at Harris and my dad calls me and tells me to just find someone to jump me and then go to Autozone to get a battery test and see whats wrong. After me and Tiffany get her car and then park it next to mine I then realizes that not only could I not get in my car with the remote but I couldn't get in with the key itself. So I call UPD again to see if they can get inside and they said they can't cause my windows are powered and it could be a liability but they do give me a number to a tow truck guy who could open it for me. I called the guy and he came and opened my car (for $35). After that me and Tiffany then went on to try to jump my car again so I could go to Autozone. She takes her cord and puts them on her battery but when she picks up the other end she touches them together and they spark in her hand which causes her to scream bloody murder in the garage. When that happened we both knew we couldn't use those plugs so she gets in her car to move her car its dead....just like mine but the only difference is that she can take her keys out...so there are two dead cars now. Oh by the way after I had called my dad after I got my car unlocked he told me he was on his way to San Marcos....from Arlington. So Tiffany calls around and finds one of her friends (Rachel Haverkorn and Sara Darby) that has another plug so we can try to start her car again. They get there and then hook up the plugs (no sparks this time) but nothing happens to Tiffany's car. I then call my dad (who is driving from Arlington to San Marcos) and he tells me to look in the fuse box to see if something was blown so I am now looking in the fuse box to see if I had blown a fuse and while I am doing this Sara's boyfriend and sidekick aka the magical white fairies come from nowhere and hop out there car with a tool kit tell Tiffany to pop her hood and then they just tighten her positive on her battery because apparently when she sparked the cords they loosened it which triggered her security which shut her car down . Then homeboy comes over to my car while I am still messing with my fuse box then just tightens my positive on my battery and my car magically comes on......WTF....we had been in that garage for 3 hours and they came in five minutes fixed both cars and then dipped......I didn't know what to say or think. Later we all went to Zookas then me and Tiffany went and saw unstoppable with Denzel Washington....it was alright but not worth 8 bucks.

Things learned from that day:

1. Mattew Street Garage is haunted

2. I learned how to check my fuses in my car

3. I will never take the sound of my car starting up for granted

4. Unstoppable is a stressful to watch

5. Denzel is still on point with the acting

6. Magic white fairies from mechanic heaven do exist 

Something everyone should go do.......

Go watch a pee wee football game. Either flag or tackle it doesn't matter. But you have to go to a hood league  cause it's more entertaining and the talent is better. I went this weekend to see my nephews play and man it was more entertaining then a cowgirls game. These little kids can ball. I saw moves that I didn't think kids in the third grade could do and all of them are competitive and were ballin out of control. I wish I had video taped it cause the games were good. If you want to be entertained and are tired of seeing the sucky cowgirls play you should go to a hood near you and watch a game or two....trust me it's wroth it.

Lately......

I have been addicted to this video game called NBA 2K11 well mostly the My Player part of the game. It consumes my life. It's all I think about. Nothing else is important. I have to play that game everyday. I need help. I might need rehab.....but I don't want help. I love this game and I love how it is addicting. I always want to play it......that's pretty much how I feel and I don't think it will change for awhile.

This made me SOOOOO happy....

Yesterday I received probably the best emails in my life. In the email I was told that all the RA's will be receiving an additional 50 meal trades this semester and that next semester we would be getting the 200 meal plan instead of the bum a$$ 150 meal plan.........I almost cried I was so happy. I have been struggling with this weak meal plan all semester long and getting those extra 50 took a ton of weight of my shoulders. And now next semester I can go back to my old ways of eating and can even swipe a couple of people also........ HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........I knew God had my back.

Goals, Goals, Goals!!!!!!!

I actually took the time and made some short-term and long-term goals for myself. I feel so on top of my game right now.......

Goals

(Long-Term)

1.     Find a career not a job.

a.     Be patient while I first start off in the work force.

b.     Allow God to Guide me in the direction he wants me to be in.

c.      Don’t settle for the average. Get the best and don’t settle for anything less.

d.     Remember that it might take time to find a career.

2.     Make more than 6 figures.

a.     Position myself in a company that will allow me to grow and move up in the company.

b.     Work hard at everything I do.

c.      Take advantage of every opportunity to better myself in that company.

d.     Make as many contacts as possible.

e.      Make friends not enemies.

f.       Be patient. It won’t happen overnight.

3.     Find my future wife.

a.     Do not lower your standards for a girl.

b.     Do not rush anything.

c.      See C on first goal.

d.     Allow God to lead me to find the right one.

e.      Know that your standards are not too high or too picky.  

4.     Better my relationship with God.

a.     Continue to go to a church where I can grow in my faith.

b.     Start to read more of the Bible.

c.      Pray every day in the morning.

d.     Include God in my life as much as possible.

Goals

(Short-Term)

1.     Find out what I want to do with my degree

a.     Research different jobs that use my degree.

b.     Do as many internships that sound like jobs I want to do.

c.      Take opportunities that are presented to me to help me with my field.

d.     Let God guide me in the direction and be patient.

2.     Increase my GPA to above an 3.0

a.     Dedicate time and effort into my classes

b.     Don’t make anything below a B

c.      Do not get frustrated that the class is difficult. It is college that is how it is supposed to be.

d.     Attack all Extra credit that is available.

e.      Learn the material so it will make studying easy.

f.       Actually read the material.

3.     Gain at the Min. 5 lbs of muscle and get in shape

a.     Get on and stay on a steady workout schedule.

b.     Complete every lift.

c.       Push myself with the weight I use.

d.     Make sure I am taking my protein and Glutamine.

e.      Eat foods that will help not hurt my goal.

f.       Run more.

4.     Get an internship

a.     Look for one for the summer and possibly winter break.

b.     Stay on Stillings to get me the hook up.

c.      Re-due/Update my resume.

d.     Possibly go to career services for help.

e.      Once again let God guide me in the right direction and be patient.

I'm Sorry....

I know I haven't posted anything new in awhile but I have been what I am calling a blogging slump. I don't know what it is but I haven't been able to come up with anything that I feel like is worth ya'lls attention. As a blogger I feel like I should only produce top notch entertaining post on my blog and anything less than that is wrong. I will do my best to come up with some new material for all of ya'll that have been patiently waiting for my new stuff. I don't know when I will be out of this slump but hopefully it will be soon.

I have you seen......

Someone trip or like fall and it was the funniest thing ever but you couldn't laugh too hard because they were in hearing range? Man today I saw this dude trip on the sidewalk going down hill and it took everything inside of me to not laugh (until he walked in the other direction and I busted out laughing). Man the best ones are when people like trip going up a step or like they trip on a crack in the sidewalk....man those are priceless and incredibly funny. I know it might be wrong but I know all of ya'll think the same way so don't judge me. Another thing that makes it funny is when like 1 or 2 other people that you don't know see it and ya'll all look at each other and then laugh at the same time.......Good times

Just Thought Ya'll Should Know....

I will sometime in the future be getting a video camera so I can start to record the random things that happen in my life and put them on my blog. When this happens my blog will go to a whole different level and will make it 10 times better. So be on the look out for that. I will keep ya'll updated.

I might start rapping....

Shoot everyone else is doing it and most of them I am sure I could be better than. All I need is a hot beat a catchy chorus and I will start making millons. Forget getting an education. If it worked for soulja boy I know I can do it.....You know what screw it I think I will make a mixtape soon and try to get signed so I can make some easy money. I think I will try to be like a mix of Kanye West, Chamillionaire and 2pac. My rap name will be StevieB and the name of my first mixtape will be "What am I doing here??" .......Yeah I got all planned out. I think I will still go to school so I can be called the college graduate and be a little bit different than Kanye. I should try to make my own beats too so I can save my money.

Vans shoes.....

Are probably some of the best shoes that I have owned in my life. Reasons why I love them: They are cheap, they last a long time, if they get dirty all you have to do is throw them bad boys in the washer and keep it moving, you can wear them in the club, you can actually walk in them and don't have to worry about creasing them. No other shoe comes in all the colors that vans do. If you don't have any I suggest that you invest in some trust me you won't be disappointed. Why spend 100+ dollars on some J's that you can't even wear all the time because they will crease up if you do when you can just get some vans that you can wear ALL the time. Bottom line just get some vans.

Old People Talking....

Can be one of the coolest things ever. They are always dropping knowledge about things that you never knew you needed to know anything about. They know so much and they are always talking even if you didn't want to talk to them. I like listening to my grandfather talk cause he is always telling some kind of story from back in the day and they are always funny no matter what. Everyone should listen to old people talk...you might learn something....or at least be entertained.

Girls Blocking at a Party....

Is one of the most vile and ruthless things I girl can do. If you don't want your friends to be talked to by guys then don't go out. Stop playa hating and have some fun or just leave cause you are killing the mood. I can understand if you are looking out for your friend but come on. Girls that block are nothing but some bustas and don't deserve to have a man. If you have a friend that is always blocking you at parties you better get that under control or you will never have fun at a party. The girl I saw at the party this past friday night was blocking like she was a 6 time pro bowler. She was running the blocking game so tight Payton Manning would have been proud.......SMH

My Biggest Fear

My biggest fear is not achieving the goals I have set for myself in my life. Also my biggest fear is to be stuck in life and not be able to move up anymore in life. My biggest fear is to not be able to provide for my family when I eventually get one. My biggest fear is to be at a job that I hate and can't get out of. My biggest fear is not to live out all the dreams I have for myself......My biggest fear is failure.

I Got It For Cheap

This one of my mottos that I live by and will live by till the day that I die. I am a cheap person. I got my cheap was from my mom (even though she denies it). The thing is I don't see my cheap ways as a bad thing it is actually a good thing. I don't believe in paying full price for anything. I will go out of my way to find the cheapest price for anything I buy. Ebay and Amazon.com are my best friends. I don't like to buy a lot of named brand things at the grocery store. Great Value products for the most part are just as good as the name brand. The bag cereal taste just as good as the regular cereal. I am proabably the cheapest person you know.

Things you might not know about Stephen Brown

1. I am not cocky I just have confindence in myself and most of the time when I am bing "cocky" or "big headed" I am playing around. I really am a humble person.

2. I suffer from what I like to call perfectionist syndrome. What that means is I always expect things I do to be perfect (even if it is impossible to be perfect). If I work on a project most of the time I won't think it's good enough even though others think it is. I will always think of ways that I could have improved the project. This also means that I expect others to be the same as me and want whatever we are doing together to be perfect.

3. I am very competitive. I think it stems from my perfectionist syndrome but especially when it comes to sports I have to win and I HATE to lose. Even with things that are not sports I can still be competitive no matter how small it is I still want to win.

4. I can't eat chocolate. My body doesn't like it so neither do I.

5. I can't wait to be a father. I am not saying I want I kid now but in the distant future when I can take care of a family I want kids (mostly boys).

6. I do and always will look at the postive side of things no matter what. I don't let circumstances dictate how I feel.

7. I will always have hope.

8. God is not just the man upstairs to me. He has and always will be the man that will lead me in the right direction in my life.

9. Being ingnorant and not trying to have a open mind about things is one thing that I hate.

10. Even though it might not show up all the time I do have a soft side and some of my friends have seen it hahahaha.

11. I like to make people laugh because I feel that life is hard enough so I try to make people laugh as much as I can so it won't seem so hard.

12. I don't stress about stuff a lot. I don't know what is wrong with me but I just don't trip.

Scary thought...

That I only have this year and then next year and I will be done with my undergrad. This is kinda scary cause that means that I will be entering the real world and will be done with school (unless I decide to go for my masters). Part of me doesn't know if I will be ready for that specially with me not really sure what I want to do with my degree. Also what is scary is that I will be leaving college which has been the best experience of my life so far and I will truly miss it when I am done. So I guess the best thing for me to do is to enjoy these last years and pray they go by slow hahaha.

This Weekend

Will be Halo filled as i'm on call with Chris Smart who just got the new Halo so that is what me and him will be doing so ya'll might not see us that much unless Jackson catches on fire or something like that.

Chartwells......smh

My fellow Texas State people know what i'm talking about but for those who don't Chartwells is the company that runs all the dinning halls around campus. Now the food is okay for the most part (others might disagree and say it's horrible but to each their own) but the problem I have with Chartwells is the way they go about running their business. It seems that with in the last year or so Chartwells has been trying to hustle the students of Texas State. For example they are charging 50 cents extra for cheese on a burger (which was free the last two years I have been here). Now that is straight bull. 50 cents for some cheese!!!! If craft charged 50 cents per slice in a 24 pack it would cost dang near 12 dollars and no one in their right mind would pay that much for some simple cheese. The next thing is how they are starting to charge for little things like salsa at jones along with charging 1.25 for quesadillas (shout out to my boy Matt Huggins for the info). Also they have shut down commons for the weekends which pretty much leaves only two places to eat on the weekends (jones and harris). How does that make any sense to have two places open for the weekend (and they both are not near each other nor are they in the middle of the campus) to feed everyone that leaves on campus. Bottom line Chartwells is on that bull s**t and I didn't even get into the serving sizes they serve at jones (I would be here ALLLLLL day). Chartwells get off that dumb stuff and stop trying to hustle the students at Texas State.......smh

The Hate U Get Leaves If Faith Ends

If you can't tell what it spells it spells T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E.......yeah yeah yeah I know 2pac made this famous already but this is my version. It pretty much means that once you lose the faith in whatever you believe in the hate stops because once people see that you have lost faith you no longer become a threat to them and they then have no reason to hate on you. So bottom line....keep the faith and the haters!!!!!!!!! T.H.U.G. L.I.F.E.!!!!!!!
