King's Blues........

With me not being able to get a job in these past weeks I can really relate to this song right now. The whole point of this song is to talk about the struggles of not having any money to do the things you want/need to do with your life. Not being able to get money when you need it sucks and all these jobs I have been applying too and calling back are not helping me out. It seems that they are all just giving me the run around with the whole "Give me your name and number and I will get back to you" BS. I have done everything that you are supposed to do when applying for jobs it would be nice if the places would just tell me no so I can move on to the next option. I have applied everywhere and I still haven't even gotten an interview. All I need is a chance and I am sure I will get the job. I have faith that God will eventually get me a job but it's hard to stay positive when I can't see anything happening for me right now. I will just have to be patient.

The Greatest Era of Basketball......

Is from 1990-2004. This era was the best of all time for basketball. The level of competition was at it's highest. Guys played with more passion and heart. Players were trying to beat the best, not join them (*cough Miami cough*). You had MJ is his prime with his bulls but you also had other great teams like the 90s Knicks, Rockets, Jazz, Trailblazers etc. There players played hard night in and night out and made the regular season count for something unlike today were most players like to cruise through the regular season and start to play during the playoffs. In this era it was about having skills and mental toughness but in today's game all you hear about is athleticism and "upside". Players from this era dang near hated each other and it showed during the game which made for great rivalries a la Bulls vs. Knicks were at any moment a fight could break out. Now everyone is so buddy buddy that it is sickening. Also the players back in the day were tougher and didn't need to flop every minute to try to draw a foul. In a sense players from back then played with a sense of pride and manhood that wouldn't let them look like a punk and flop all over the court. Heck even the refs back in the day were better too. A hard foul back in the day was just a personal foul now it is a flagrant foul and you might get thrown out of the game. In this era you had the great series of the Bulls vs. Pacers, Jazz vs. Bulls, Portland vs. Lakers, Kings vs. Lakers, Bulls vs. Knicks, Bulls vs. Suns, Pistons vs. Bulls (real physical match-up right there), Rockets vs. Knicks.....and the list goes on. What's even greater about those match-ups was that these just didn't end once the playoffs ended...these carried over to the next season and beyond. Bottom line is that today's game  is slacking compared to this era....the players are not as competitive, refs suck more and David Stern is slowly killing the game even more....(that was more of a personal thing I have my bad). This is why I don't really watch pro basketball that much even more....only a few series in recent memory have actually made me watch them...Heat/Mavs in '06, Both series the Grizzles were in this year.

My First Year...

As an RA for Jackson Hall is over and done with. This past school year as an RA has been something I will never forget the good and the bad. I have learned a lot through this year a lot about myself and about others that I have come in contact with. I met a lot of people and some that I hope will be in my life for many years to come.  Everything that happened this past year I have learned from and I feel like it has made me a better person. The staff I was on went through a lot this year and I don't think that I would have had the same year without them. Even though I might not like everything about ResLife I still like being an RA and dealing with residents even though they might get on my nerves sometimes. With all this said I loved this year and I am thankful God has put me in this position and I won't forget this ever.....but with all that said I am going to enjoy this summer break because I am a little tired from this year hahaha

Recent Events......

Well recently I was elected as an on-campus senator for next year's ASG along with many others from the DeGarmo-Roemer ticket. With the request of Alyssa Garza I would like to tell you guys about my whole experience with the campaign process. First off I would like to say thank God it is over hahaha the past two weeks were crazy and I had a lot of things to do to help with the campaign and I am just glad it is all over. By the end of last week I didn't even care if I won or not I just wanted it to be over so I could get my life back. Now I did like hanging out in the quad everyday meeting new people and just acting a fool and having fun so the whole process wasn't all terrible. Also meeting  new people from my ticket was also another thing that I liked about campaigning. There were some things that happened during the campaign process that were straight up dumb. The childish behavior by people involved with the election process was not cool at all. This was shown by the other ticket (not everyone but some). I am not going to get into all of what happened cause we won and that is the only thing that matters but I will say I love the fact that my ticket was called the "Black Ticket" or "The Darkside"....I ain't going to lie we were the "Black Ticket" and I am proud we could get that nickname along with "Darkside" which is why we started chanting that as they announced the names of the black people that ran on our ticket. I wish that people wouldn't have gotten all bent out of shape about the election. I wish people would have not worried about the other group and just ran their race. I know the other ticket is probably mad about losing and I would be surprised if in the next week or so some ish might be said about my ticket......oh well I ain't trippin they can say whatEVER they want we still dominated the elections so it don't even matter they just hatin......that's about all I have to say about that. I am glad I won and haters gon hate.

Life of a Pistons fan.....

Has been rough for the past couple of years. The Pistons went from title contention every year to barely making the playoffs or not even making it. I have no clue what Joe Dumars and the rest of the Pistons management  are doing with their team. They haven't made any trades, drafted any big time players, hire a coach that likes to win or anything positive for that matter. Now the coach and half of the team have beef with each other.....smh what is going on in Detroit....why can't they get their act together and but I good squad out on the court and compete for a title like they did 6 years ago. As a fan I need for me team to do better......a lot better.
